Rockford MELD is pleased to have been awarded a grant for $3,000 from the Community Grants Fund of the Community Foundation of Northern Illinois. With the grant funds we will be able to purchase air mattresses and grocery cards for families in emergency situations when they do not have beds and food , says Karen Tilly.

Rockford MELD’s provides programs for young parents and their families including our MELD at Trinity House Emergency Homeless Shelter, Transitional Living Programs, our MELD Young Moms and Dads Parenting Support Groups, Homeless Prevention Rapid Re-Housing Program and our Education and Employment Assistance Program. Our mission is “guiding young parents to build a strong family and lead a responsible life by providing shelter, education and life skills.”

The Community Foundation of Northern Illinois has been a regional leader in philanthropy since 1953.
