We can always use your help at MELD. Here are some programs that can use your assistance:
MELD Moms and Dads Groups
- Assist with babysitting or providing a light supper meal
- Provide speaker or craft project for a group meeting
- Host a MELD group at your place of worship
- Provide snacks and supplies for holiday parties and special events
Homeless Shelter/Transitional Living Program
- Provide “Welcome to Your New Home” Baskets (supplies and items needed when a family moves from the shelter to their apartment or home) See the MELD WISH LIST
- Assist with babysitting while parents attend weekly group meetings and GED classes
- Provide materials for craft projects
- Have a collection drive of personal items and baby supplies for MELD families. See the MELD WISH LIST
Education & Employment Program
- Provide incentives; gift certificates, coupons, etc. for restaurants, movies and community events.
- Sponsor field trips (ball games, Chicago, Magic Waters, etc.).
- Provide school supplies – book bags, calculators, pocket folders.
- Provide bus tokens.
Administrative, Office and Building Needs
- Supply paper – craft paper, reams of copy paper
- Help with fundraisers ( MELD Mother’s Day Cards and Prints, MELD Run and Fun Walk, Annual Golf Play Day, Annual Sports Celebrity Event) and other special events)
- Provide a group to assist with outside yard and building work
- Help with mailings – folding and stuffing
