Young Dads Parenting Support Groups

Rockford MELD Young Dad Parenting GroupsMELD Young Dads Parenting Support Groups are programs that provide support and information to assist young fathers. Groups meet once a week to share experiences, become friends and offer support. Groups are led by facilitators that discuss topics such as father involvement, healthy relationships, custody concerns, child support, and keys to becoming a successful man. MELD Young Dad’s groups meet every week, participants are provided with a healthy snack, transportation, and childcare.

MELD Young Dads

The program is for young dads in the community who are between the ages of 14 and 25.

MELD Young Dads meet weekly at various locations throughout the community. Group meeting times are Tuesday evenings from 6:30pm-8pm at a local church and during the day at local high schools.

MELD groups are based on the belief that we can share, support and learn from one another. Our young dads gain the necessary knowledge to be involved with there child’s life as well as themselves.

  • Parenting information and support for young dads between 14-21 years of age
  • Childcare, meals and transportation provided
  • Weekly meetings held at community churches and local schools
