A gift to MELD is one of the most important and fulfilling ways you can support our mission and the work we do with young families. A gift to MELD can help accomplish MELD's goal to provide programs and services to young parents and their children in the efforts to be successful adults in the future and contributing members of society themselves.

This year alone MELD has:

Housed, fed and clothed 160 young mothers and their children at our MELD at Trinity House Homeless Shelter
Provided information, education and support to 197 mothers and children and 195 dads and their children in our MELD Young Dads and Moms Groups and Responsible Fatherhood Program.
Assisted 47 dads and 101 moms in completing work readiness, GED, employment assistance an/or securing employment through our Educational/ Employment Assistance, Workforce Development and Career Corp Programs

All of these achievements were attained with the assistance of the generous contributions of many individuals, churches, businesses and corporate partners. By supporting MELD, you enable MELD staff to continue its leadership role in:

Improving the parenting of many young families in need of MELD services
Emphasizing the importance of education and training
Promoting good work ethics and employment
Expanding the vital MELD programs for families and youth
Equipping young parents with the skills necessary for success as an adult and parent
Enhancing MELD through our fundraising events and activities

How You Can Help

The MELD Make A Difference Fund

The MELD Make a Difference Fund generates revenue for Rockford MELD to continue its mission of strengthening young families and youth. Unrestricted gifts to the MELD Make a Difference Fund are directed to the programs and services in greatest immediate need, ensuring our continued success in providing information, education and support to parents, their children and youth in our community.

Here are some other ways you can help MELD now and for our future:

Consider a gift of stocks, bonds or securities to MELD. Benefits of these non-cash options may include a tax deduction and a reduction or avoidance of capital gains tax.
Name MELD as a beneficiary if you have more life insurance than your family needs, or consider taking out a new policy with MELD as the beneficiary. This provides a resource of lifetime giving commitment.
Contribute tax free dollars for use at a later date through a retirement plan. Distributions from retirement funds are taxed but can provide tax advantages.
Designate MELD as a beneficiary in your will. This is an opportunity to support MELD while costing you nothing during your lifetime. Planned gifts allow you to make a significant investment to MELD without detracting from your current income or your financial security.
Memorial or Tribute Giving…special people and special occasions are worth remembering. A gift to MELD is an ideal way to honor the person or occasion while at the same time helping to make a difference in your own community.
